Would you like to know more about how to use the formatting features in Microsoft Word? Research Commons staff will help you with your questions about the nuts and bolts of formatting: page layout, numbering, headings, front matter, and more! As well, find out more about the resources that are available to help you in writing your thesis/dissertation. Graduate students at any stage of the writing process are welcome; some prior knowledge of Microsoft Word will be helpful.

Interesting online kids book review, media and literacy site
Slime Kids (School Library Media Kids) is a website designed for elementary school students, their teachers, and their parents. Slime Kids offers 4 categories of educational games; typing, spelling, grammar, and vocabulary. The site also offers book trailers designed to help spark students’ interest in reading. Additionally, students can explore author websites, read book reviews, utilize search engines and look up reference information.

This hands-on workshop introduces briefly the main concepts of citation management and gives detailed instruction for using RefWorks, a popular citation management tool licensed by UBC Library.
